Michael Ian Adamson, Lance-Corporal, fourth son of Marianne and Henry Adamson, grandson of Michael and Maria Burke, of Christchurch. Served with 2nd Battalion, Canterbury Regiment. Suffered head wounds in battle on 29 March 1918, at Etaples, France, and died the following day. Aged 23. Buried in Etaples Cemetery.
